MMU Sport - Campaigns

Over the course of my placement year at Manchester Metropolitan Sport I was given the opportunity to assist in the management of the social media content for selected campaigns/events. Their main target audience was students (18-24) whom have a keen interest in sport. However some of the campaigns were used to target students we weren't currently linked too.

Below is the main campaigns I worked on with a few example of the type of social media MMU Sport outputs:

  • Discover Guide Dog Event - an event where we allowed students to come and meet the Guide Dogs in an aid to de-stress or to overcome homesickness. Each Guide Dog Event we ran sold out within the first few weeks of being released.

  • Zone out Zone - A week long campaign. It was there to help aid students with stress around the exam period. Yoga, free fruit, free exam kits, nutritional recipes and additional support was provided in the tent across various days of the event- again the Guide Dogs were on hand. Over the course of the campaign we engaged with over 100 unique non-participants (sport).

Shake it off event- An annual to engage with women. Running with the same values as This Girl Can, the aim is to encourage under-represented women and support them to get active. Although it may seem a small number we had around 30 women at the event on the day, 20 we had never engaged with before.
